Getting To Know Me

I am a Senior Psychologist with Master’s degrees in both Clinical Psychology and Relationship and Couples Therapy. Over the past 28 years, I have worked across a diverse range of settings, including community mental health, forensic, educational services, and private practice. I have also lectured at both undergraduate and postgraduate university levels and provide regular supervision to psychologists and other allied health professionals.
I have a particular passion for working with couples. Beyond my Master’s training in Couples Therapy, I have undertaken extensive additional relationship-focused professional development over the past two decades, including Imago Therapy and Level Three Gottman Therapy.
As a result, I see all clients through a relational lens. This means that, even if you see me for individual issues, I will be mindful of the role
important relationships play in either your symptoms or your therapy process.

I also place strong emphasis on the relationship clients have with themselves, helping them to develop greater awareness of their emotional experiences, rather than becoming overly identified with patterns of thinking, so that they can develop a more compassionate and attuned understanding of their own emotional needs.

Drawing upon my Schema Therapy training, I often incorporate parts-based approaches into the therapeutic process to help clients understand the different aspects of themselves that may hold emotional experiences, coping strategies, and protective patterns.

My practice is informed by ongoing engagement with contemporary research and developments in clinical practice, alongside advanced training in evidence-based individual therapies, neurobiology, and couples therapy. I work from a trauma-informed lens and have advanced training in EMDR. My work in couples therapy also reflects the increasing diversity within contemporary relationships, particularly the importance of understanding how differences between partners across emotional, sensory, cognitive, communicative, relational, and identity-related domains shape the overall couple dynamic.
